Cedar Community Secondary School

The Regional District of Nanaimo is entering a Joint Use Agreement with School District 68 for shared community use of the four outdoor pickleball and basketball courts at Cedar Community Secondary School, a decision approved unanimously by the RDN Board. A broader park expansion at the same site has completed its draft concept stage (https://www.getinvolved.rdn.ca/cedar-community-park-expansion), proposing a bike pump track, playground, and two additional pickleball courts on the existing tennis court. The Joint Use Agreement secures community access to the current court assets independently of that future capital work. No conditions attach to the approval. Execution of the agreement is the next step.
