The District of Central Saanich is seeking to redevelop its property at 1903 Mt. Newton Cross Road, Saanichton, with a 6-storey building through a Request for Proposals requiring two density concept options and reimbursement of unsuccessful proponents. Council is being asked to approve revised evaluation criteria and weighting for the RFP. If adopted, the RFP would issue in Q2 2026, with Council review of submissions targeted for July 27, public information sessions in August, and Development Agreement approval by August 26, followed by a Development Permit review. No unit count or developer is attached at this stage; the RFP will define density and form.

Central Saanich Council will consider a rezoning application for 1903 Mt. Newton Cross Road, Saanichton, at its May 11, 2026, meeting. The applicant seeks to rezone the property. A council decision has not yet been reached.
